"You are what you eat. What would YOU like to be?" ~Julie Murphy

I've watched two life changing documentaries recently and wanted to share them with you! Hungry for Change and Food Matters. They've both been on Netflix and still may be but check your local library, both are available through the Toronto system.

I think the line that resonated with me the most is this, and I'm paraphrasing, "As a society, we've never had so much choice over what to eat and as a society we've never eaten so much...and yet, NUTRITIONALLY, we're starving to death!"

Another line I remembering is, "We've moved from eating 'food' to food like products". I guess cereal is a good example. We're not eating corn, we're eating Corn Flakes. We're not eating rice, we're eating Rice Krispies.

As with many things, I'm not sure why I haven't seen the food industry for what it is before now, an industry! I'm also not sure why I haven't seen fresh, unaltered, unmodified, pesticide free food for what it is either; what our bodies were designed to consume.

Part of the transformation for me has been listening to my body. My body is much happier eating fresh food. My mind is much more dangerous...asking all kinds of questions about where the sugar has gone! But the proof is in the pudding...

"You are what you eat. Who would YOU like to be?"
