In life and in rehab. finding 'balance' is often elusive. Too little sleep, too many appointments, not enough family time, too many burgers. But as soon as you try to balance one aspect of your life, sure enough, something else is out of place.
My thought today comes as a question, "Is it possible to balance your life without first learning how to balance your day?"
Here are some questions to help guide you in learning how to balance your day:
- How many hours sleep did you get last night? Aim for 8hrs more often than not.
- Did you have any 'me' time today?
- Did you eat breakfast today? It's an easy way to set your day up for success.
- Did you spend time with someone you love?
- Did you do something fun today? Enjoyable activities are a great way to balance stress in your life.
- Most days involve some kind of 'work'; spend your time wisely working toward your most important goals.
- How much time did you spend outside today? Sunshine and fresh air are sure to lift your mood.
- Did you exercise today? Aim to exercise more days than not.
